The CTMA has announced the full program of festivities FOR ITS 75TH anniversary!
Cap-aux-Meules, April 8, 2019 – The CTMA is proud to announce the calendar of festivities to be held in the months to come in celebration of the cooperative’s 75th anniversary.
“Celebrating the 75th anniversary of an organization, especially a cooperative, is no trivial affair. We can be very proud of this milestone and that’s why we want to bring together the big CTMA family and each and every Madelinot through the different festivities. These events will allow us to give back to the community with which the CTMA has had a unique relationship for 75 years,” stated the CTMA’s general manager, Emmanuel Aucoin.
Starting with The Big CTMA Party to be held on May 26, 2019, all islanders are invited to come celebrate on the Cap-aux-Meules wharf and attend the launch of a music album created especially for the75th anniversary and featuring many talented local artists.
A varied program!
With a more educational focus in mind, an exhibition and rally will be held aboard ships throughout the year. We are also planning a 2nd edition of the CTMA Employee Recognition Gala.
In October, Madelinots will be able to take a special cruise with an exclusive itinerary leaving from the Islands. Also, with the collaboration of the Municipalité des Îles, we will be hosting a hockey game featuring the Montreal Canadiens Alumni at the new multisport complex. During the holidays, a Christmas parade will be organized in collaboration with the Club Richelieu. The festivities will close with a “Tribute” evening in April 2020, when we will launch a book and a documentary on the history of the CTMA.
A new visual identity and new corporate website
The 75th anniversary was the ideal time to create a visual identity for the celebration and to overhaul the corporate website. Using the path the CTMA has travelled through the years as a starting point, the Gemini advertising agency was inspired by the imagery of the wave when creating the slogan: 75 years – a tidal wave of pride.
“The concept of the wave, which represents the challenges of the maritime industry, as well as the feeling of pride at still thriving after 75 years of being in business and always being central to the development of the Islands, struck a chord in us,” declared the agency’s communications and marketing manager Claudia Delaney.
Founded on May 28, 1944, the Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien generates more than 500 jobs. With its regional expertise, the CTMA is managed by Madelinots and its impact benefits the entire Îles de la Madeleine community.
