Environmental protection: tangible actions that make a difference
- Total replacement of waste water systems aboard the CTMA Vacancier
- Replacement of the oily water treatment system aboard the CTMA Vacancier and Madeleine
- Total elimination of paper towels through installation of electric hand dryers aboard the CTMA Vacancier
- Introduction of a waste sorting system aboard all ships
- Elimination of plastic dinnerware with reusable crockery aboard the CTMA Traversier
- Introduction of an electronic payroll system, saving almost 2,000 sheets of paper and envelopes every month
- Major clean-up of all types of waste accumulated on a CTMA site over more than 50 years, recovering more than 500 tonnes of iron and other materials
- Member of Green Alliance, the North American shipping industry's environmental program
